Central London Forward is a partnership of 12 central London boroughs working together to drive inclusive and sustainable growth. We advocate for investment, support job creation, and develop policies that benefit residents, businesses, and communities across the region.
What We Do
CLF’s 12 member local authorities are: Camden, City of London, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth and Westminster
The 12 central London boroughs are home to some of the world’s most creative and innovative businesses, and to world-leading clusters. This concentration of economic activity drives agglomeration effects, underpinning the area’s high levels of productivity. However, central London’s economic success must not be taken for granted. While it is the most productive part of the UK, productivity growth has stalled since the financial crisis.
Rebooting central London’s productivity growth will be vital to reviving the economic prospects of the capital, and to achieving the government’s growth mission.
Our Strategy
At Central London Forward, our strategy is focused on driving inclusive and sustainable growth across the 12 central London boroughs. We work to ensure that our economy thrives while tackling inequalities, improving access to quality jobs, and addressing major challenges like housing affordability and climate change. By advocating for investment, collaborating with policymakers, and delivering impactful employment programmes, we aim to make central London a place where everyone can benefit from the opportunities it creates.
Our Plan
Our plan is built around five key priorities: creating a thriving economy, fostering an inclusive job market, enhancing workforce skills, improving housing and infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable local government. We champion investment in growth sectors, advocate for fairer economic policies, and deliver cross-borough employment and skills programmes. Through strong partnerships and data-driven policymaking, we are committed to shaping a future where all Londoners can prosper.
