Pioneer
The Pioneer Support programme, commissioned by Central London Forward and funded by the Department for Work and Pensions, was a one-year pilot initiative launched in September 2023.
Programme Overview
About
This programme, delivered as an extension of the Work and Health Programme, specifically targets economically inactive and disabled residents within Central London, a “place and train” methodology to address significant barriers to employment through targeted interventions, thereby fostering inclusive economic growth within the region.
Dedicated teams of employment and health advisors from our provider Ingeus provided personalized, one-to-one support, including health-related interventions and in-work assistance, aiming to facilitate the entry of participants into sustainable employment. The programme has demonstrated exceptional performance, exceeding targets for programme starts, job entries, and sustained employment outcomes, and has been recognized as one of top-performing Pioneer contracts nationally.
To date the programme has supported over 2100 central London residents, out of which more than 850 have entered employment and 400 have sustained long term employment.
