Connect to Work

Connect to Work is a DWP-funded programme supporting disabled and economically inactive residents in central London to find and sustain employment.

Programme Overview

About

Connect to Work is a voluntary Supported Employment programme funded by the UK Government, as part of the Get Britain Working strategy. It aims to support people with disabilities health conditions, or those facing other challenges that affect their ability to get a job, to find  suitable employment and progress into work. It will also help those in work but at risk of losing their job, to stay in employment.

Central London Forward is working with our member authorities – the City of London, Camden, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth and Westminster – to provide this support to over 17,000 residents over five years (the programme will run until March 2030)

The programme works on place and train’ Supported Employment models. Working closely with employers, Connect to Work teams will provide voluntary, flexible, individualised support for residents. In these modes participants are initially helped to find a job and subsequently provided with the support and training needed to sustain and succeed in that job. Both participants and employers will be provided with support once the participants are in work, to ensure the employment is sustainable.
